Ah, beer. Isn’t there anything that it can’t cure? It can cure a broken heart, it can put out fires, it can be used to make meats better tasting, it can help you get your pats and pans polished. It can liven up your party and your hair. Yes, your hair. Beer has been known to make hair shinier and have more luster. It can loosen rusty bolts, it can clean up your lawn, it can help you pass kidney stones. You can boil seafood in it and use it to kill slugs. What else?
You could bathe in it.
In the Czech Republic, there are spas that let you wash away, not the sorrows or dullness, but the dirt off your body with beer. It is not surprising as the country is considered to be the homeland of pilsners. Plus it is said that every Czech drinks about 160 liters of beer every year.
The concept is simple. You get inside a bath tub, then hot water is poured into the tub along with organic beer. Then bath salts are rubbed all over your body. After an hour, you emerge from the tub clean and fresh.
What you do not see, however, is the hidden benefits of a beer bath. For one, the beer helps detoxify your body. The hot water helps open up the pores of your skin and the hops get absorbed into it, helping you get cleaner skin. It also helps the bath salts work better. And because of the scent of beer, it serves as a good aromatherapeutic bath as well. As we have already mentioned, it also helps you get great hair.
It also helps you sleep. In fact, it is common for spas in the Czech Republic to have beds for their clients to sleep in.
